Newspaper columnist gets engineered wood flooring

A Scotland on Sunday newspaper columnist has recently had engineered wood flooring installed at her home.

Writing in the weekly paper, Louisa Pearson recounts a humorous tale of how she found her new maple wood flooring and how the floor fitter told her he needed her “bulk” to hold the floor in place whilst it was being installed. She jokes that he had displayed, “a way with words that no girl could resist”.

Ms Pearson had decided to get the wood flooring after her new open-plan kitchen was completed before Christmas. She had been advised that solid wood flooring may not be suitable for her home because the kitchen floor is below ground level and moisture could therefore cause damage. She was advised that for requirements such as hers, laminate flooring and engineered wood flooring could be good options.

She had also considered bamboo flooring as it’s becoming increasingly fashionable but in the end she decided against it and opted for engineered wood flooring. She writes, “So how does my maple engineered floor look? The small area that has been laid looks lovely. When will it be finished? I don’t know, I just provide the bulk.”
