These boards have been treated with either Natural Oil or UV Oil, which penetrates deeply into the timber and protects the floor. Oil finish gives the floor a warm and natural silky-smooth finish. Natural Oil finishes tend to require an extra coat of oil when fitted but do offer the most natural appearance and will be easy to maintain for the start. A UV Oil needs no oiling straight after installation and should not be patch repaid in the first few months. maintaining an oiled floor is easy, just simply apply floor soap to clean the floor and add maintenance oil from time to time. A well maintained oiled floor should not need sanding and will age gracefully.
