American Wood Oil is a natural Tung Oil, which has been carefully gathered, pressed and purified from a Tung tree in South America. It’s natural properties makes this oil water proof and hard wearing.
Transparent Gold an interior oil, suitable for all types of woods: dense, hard and exotic. The wood absorbs the oil deeply and protects the flooring from water and every day wear.

It has a semi satin matt finish.
Sold in 1 litre and 3.8 litre. Coverage for the bigger tin in approximately 40m2
There are 4 choices of application of Transparent Gold.
You need to Combine the oil and pigments (if using) before and during the application:
- Cotton Cloth –Use 2 cotton cloths, one to add the oil and the other to rub off the surplus oil in the direction of the grain. Work on full boards at a time (5-10m2) Leave the oil to be absorbed for a few minutes before wiping off any excess. Leave to dry for 8 hours at a minimum temperature of 16 degrees and area must be well ventilated.
- Paint Brush – Use a natural bristle brush and work on full boards at a time (5-10m2) Leave the oil to be absorbed for a few moments before rubbing off any excess oil. Lightly Brushing out and lifting off at the end of each stroke. Leave to dry for 8 hours at a minimum temperature of 16 degrees and area must be well ventilated.
- Lambswool Applicator – First use a natural bristle brush to work on the edges of the room. Use Lamb’s wool applicator along the full length of the floor. To avoid lab marks maintain a whet edge by overlapping sections you previously ended by several cm/inches. Leave to dry for 8 hours at a minimum temperature of 16 degrees and area must be well ventilated.
- Polishing machine – Apply the oil in an even coat with a low speed floor buffing machine using a white polishing pad. Continue in sections until the whole floor has been finished. Leave to dry for 8 hours at a minimum temperature of 16 degrees and area must be well ventilated. Please note some pigments cannot be applied with a polishing machine.
